Wyoming Prints $5.00. Inc Authority Does Not Print Year Two.

Disclosure, then the argument. WY Reg Agent.com charges $99 a year to be a Wyoming registered agent and benefits directly from anyone who moves. Everything below about Inc Authority comes from what the company itself publishes, plus one number it does not, which we describe as missing rather than fill in with a guess.

The Free Year Is Genuinely Free

Set a company up through Inc Authority and the agent service rides along for twelve months without a charge attached. There is no trial converting quietly at month three, no deposit, no minimum term hiding behind the word free. A founder who forms through them gets a compliant Wyoming agent for a year and pays nothing for it. Calling that a gimmick would be unfair to the offer.

The question is what day 366 costs.

We Went Looking and Came Back Without It

In July 2026 we read the front page, the package comparison, the add-on list and the help centre, then followed the signup path right up to the point where it wants a card.

Year two never got a price.

We are not calling that dishonest. Businesses arranged this way normally do give the number out, only later and in private, on a final screen or over the phone, and there is no reason to think the quote is inaccurate when it comes. The claim we can actually stand behind is narrow: on the day we checked, the figure was nowhere a prospective customer could read it before committing.

The effect on you is practical. Every other rate in this category can be set side by side and weighed in ten minutes. This one inverts the order, asking for the commitment before the price.

Two minutes solves it and costs nothing. While the free year still has time left on it, put the question to them in writing, keep whatever comes back, and hold it against the rates you already have.

Wyoming Writes Its Prices to the Cent

The contrast is with the state itself, which is unusually precise about money.

Wyoming's fee schedule does not round and does not hedge. Under the registered agent heading it lists the appointment of a new registered agent and office at $5.00, and the form's own checklist repeats the same $5.00 straight back at you. An agent information update is $5.00. A resignation is $5.00, charged per entity affected. Articles of Organization are a flat $100, a figure written into statute rather than set by the office, with a small card processing fee if you pay online instead of posting a check. The annual report is $60 at minimum, rising only for a company holding more than $300,000 of assets in the state.

Third-party sites circulate larger numbers for the agent change, and they are wrong. Wyoming published five dollars twice, in two separate official documents, and that is the figure.

A state that itemizes to two decimal places and a vendor that will not name a renewal are the two ends of a spectrum. We would rather sit at the state's end of it.
