A Stripe Atlas Alternative When You Want Wyoming

Stripe Atlas is a strong product with one hard limit for anyone reading this page: it forms companies in Delaware only. If you live outside the US and want a Wyoming LLC, you need a Wyoming provider. Here's how Atlas compares with our Non-US Founder Package so you can decide which state, and which service, fits. We sell the competing package, so keep that in mind as you read.

Where Stripe Atlas shines

  • Built for venture-backed startups. Atlas files your 83(b) election, handles equity issuance and SAFEs, and uses legal documents drafted with Cooley.
  • State fee included. The $500 price covers the Delaware filing fee and a year of registered agent service.
  • Perks. Stripe advertises $2,500 in Stripe credits and around $50,000 in partner perks.
  • Speed. Atlas offers next-day expedited Delaware filing and says companies are incorporated within two business days.

If you're raising from US investors, those features carry real weight.

How our package is different

It's a Wyoming LLC. Wyoming's filing fee is $100 and its yearly license tax starts at $60. Many founders who run a one-person service business or an online store pick Wyoming for that simplicity. That isn't tax advice, just the published state fees.

Banking with our partners. The day you sign your EIN form, your account application is ready with your company documents attached. Nothing is sent until you approve it. Our partners make the call on every application, and approval isn't guaranteed.

The EIN path is spelled out. Without an SSN, you can't use the IRS online application. We prepare Form SS-4, you sign it digitally, and we fax it in. The IRS usually takes 2 to 8 weeks.

A $99 renewal. Registered agent service is the only thing that renews, and you can cancel it whenever you like.

Not included with us

No annual report filing and no tax returns. Foreign-owned single-member LLCs typically owe the IRS a Form 5472 each year, and you'll want a tax professional for that.

When Atlas is the better pick

  • You're forming a Delaware C-corp and plan to raise venture capital.
  • You need 83(b) elections, stock issuance, or SAFEs handled from day one.
  • You already process payments with Stripe and want everything in one account.
  • You'd rather pay one number that already includes the state fee.

If none of those describe you and Wyoming is your state, our package is built for that.

FAQ

Can Stripe Atlas form a Wyoming LLC?

No. Atlas forms Delaware LLCs and C-corps only. If you've decided on Wyoming, Atlas isn't an option, and a Wyoming formation service is the comparison to make.

Which is cheaper, Atlas or your package?

Atlas charges $500 and that includes the Delaware filing fee and a first year of registered agent service. We charge $399 plus Wyoming's $100 filing fee. After year one, Atlas's agent renews at $100 a year and ours at $99.

Does Atlas include a bank account?

Atlas connects you to Stripe Treasury, and it refunds its $500 fee once you deposit $5,000 there. We take a different route: our team prepares a bank account application for our partners and sends it once you approve it. Neither of us can guarantee an account.

Should a startup raising venture capital use your package?

Probably not. If investors expect a Delaware C-corp, Atlas's equity tools, 83(b) filing, and Cooley-drafted documents are designed for that. Our package forms Wyoming LLCs.

Do either of you handle US taxes or annual state filings?

Neither does. Atlas doesn't include Form 5472 or other tax help, and we don't prepare returns either. Your Wyoming annual report and license tax are also yours to file each year.
