Swyft Bills Four Times a Year. Wyoming Bills Once, on One Day.

A competitor is speaking. WY Reg Agent.com sells the same role Swyft Filings sells, at $99 a year in Wyoming, and every switch this page produces lands on our invoice list. The Swyft numbers are Swyft's, recorded during a July 2026 review.

The Fair Part

Swyft publishes its price and publishes the billing interval next to it, which is more than one competitor in this category manages. Some owners would rather part with four smaller sums than one larger one, and a company that structures its billing that way is answering a genuine preference.

The trouble starts when a quarterly figure walks into a comparison built out of annual ones.

Multiply Before You Compare

Registered agent service from Swyft is $149 for each three-month period. Across twelve months that annualizes to roughly $596, and the July 2026 review found no opening discount anywhere to soften the first year.

Read at a glance, $149 passes for an ordinary annual rate in this market and sits mid-table beside figures that really are annual. Read with the interval attached, it becomes roughly $596, which is the steepest effective yearly figure anyone in this comparison publishes for Wyoming.

Put it in the state's own units. The charge for swapping one registered agent for another here is five dollars. Twelve months of Swyft is therefore worth almost a hundred and twenty of those filings, which is roughly one every three days for a solid year, and considerably more changes than most companies make across an entire existence.

Cadence is the other contrast worth drawing, and it is less a joke at Swyft's expense than a fact about the state.

Wyoming asks a company for money once a year. The annual report, which doubles as a license tax, is keyed to the month your entity was formed, and it is due on the first of that month rather than at the end of it. That trips people, because most anniversary-month states give you the whole month to work with. The state accepts the report from 120 days out, and refuses it before then.

The amount is $60 for the great majority of filers, that being the statutory minimum. It rises only where a company holds more than $300,000 of capital, property and assets located and employed inside Wyoming, at which point the state applies $0.0002 to every dollar of them.

So the state's entire recurring cost is one payment on one predictable morning. Four vendor invoices a year set against one state deadline a year is a strange ratio, and it is worth asking yourself which of the two you would actually notice going missing.

Our Column

$99 for twelve months, invoiced once, renewing at $99. A process server who hands us documents on a Tuesday has put them in your portal on Tuesday, with an email so you know to open it. Correspondence from the Business Division travels the same route. Reminders arrive before your anniversary month begins. One product, no tiers, no setup charge.

Since the arithmetic above runs in our favour, here is the piece that does not: BetterLegal posts $90 a year. Our $99 ranks among the least expensive published Wyoming rates, and that is the whole of the claim.

Leaving Swyft Filings in Wyoming

Wyoming moves an agent with a single form, sent with a $5 payment to the Secretary of State's Business Division. There is no number on it and no online version of it. The state wants the signed paper original in the post with a check, and gives itself as much as fifteen business days to enter the change. No expedited option exists under Wyoming law, so the wait is the wait.

Sequence matters more than usual because of that wait. Enroll here, post the form while Swyft still holds the appointment, watch the state's entity search until the agent line changes, and only then stop the quarterly billing. Stopping payment does not take a name off a public register. The record moves when Cheyenne processes the envelope, and until it does, a company that has already cancelled its old agent has nobody being paid to watch its address. Our change of agent page lays out the form and the order of operations.

One invoice of $99 against four of $149. Wyoming's three requirements do not shift with the price: an address in the state, a person standing at it, and what arrives moved along without delay.
